Apple Cider Vinegar - the magic CURE-ALL!

The ultimate in frugal, green, chemical-free living is being able to treat your aches, itches and ailments with nature's bounty instead of creepy chemicals! (Give it a try at least, before turning to the commercial concoctions). Apple Cider Vinegar is one of nature's most magical substances (only slightly more so than... beans, beans the magical fruit, the more you eat, the more you....)

Cough or Sore Throat: Add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar + 1 Tbl (or 2) of honey to hot water or tea. Before it cools enough to drink, you can inhale the steam to relieve congestion - works even better with Mint tea!
Blistering and peeling after sunburn: Mix equal amounts of cool water and vinegar in a bowl, soak up a washcloth, ring out a bit and pat on the area to relieve pain and prevent blistering.
Itchy skin, or larger sunburn: Take a bath with 2 cups cider vinegar mixed into room-temperature, or cool water. Great for bugbites too!
Headache or sinus congestion: 1/2 cup cider vinegar + 1 cup water + mint leaves (or mint tea bag or 2 if that is what you have) - combine in a pot and bring to boil. Remove from heat and put a towel over your head, lead over the pot and inhale the steam/fumes (the towel helps contain the fumes/steam for you to breathe in)
Magic Cold-Prevention medicine (like Airborne!) - Peeled Ginger Root + 1 peeled garlic (cloves separated and peeled) + 2 small chili peppers. Put all of the above into a mason jar. Bring enough cider vinegar to a boil that would cover the above ingredients in the mason jar. When boiling begins, remove from heat and pour it into the mason jar, completely covering the contents. Seal/cover/put lid on tightly. Let cool a bit before putting it into the refrigerator (so that the glass doesn't crack from extreme temperature change). Keep in the refrigerator. When you feel a cold coming on, mix a teaspoon of your concoction into a 1/2 cup water and drink it up! (you can also cook it up in your stir fry!)

"An apple a day keeps the doc away!" - same goes for Apple Cider Vinegar! Add a tablespoon to your tea or juice (doesn't work in orange juice - icky taste! works best in grape, apple, cran, etc. juices) to stay healthy! It has magical anti-bacterial qualities and some trace minerals just like eating an apple!
